High Gas Prices Leaking into Other Markets

Definitely.  It's a chain reaction.  Gas, truckers, etc.  It's like a domino effect, and when one part of the chain tumbles, the rest falls as well.  I'm continuning stunned by higher prices every time I shop.

I suppose now the price are gradually coming down as the price of oil is also gradually coming down. Soon to see them back to ordinary price :D

I went to my greengrocer day before yesterday and the shelves in the store are empty! This is at a time when they should be bursting with summer seasonal fruits and vegetables.

We had a talk. He told me that because of the price of gas of the transportation, that the food costs are high -- and that's on top of all the bad weather that has been around.

He told me that he can't even buy things to stock shelves because he knows that no one can afford to buy them. Things are so bad that he might have to close his store, and it has been in my neighborhood for decades!

I looked at the prices of the fruits and veggies and they were so high, that I couldn't afford to buy much at all. I usually do most of my shopping at the fresh fruit and veggie store!

I don't know about your neighborhood, but things are terrible here. I have no fresh fruit or veggies in my house at all!

Yes, I went to buy banana today. And asked for 2 bananas. They said 10 cents. (Replaced the USD instead of Indian currency) I asked whether both the bananas cost 10 cents in total as it is usually 5 cents only. But they said a single Banana is 10 cent. it has just doubled the money. Not only in this, but in many grocery and other household products.

I've seen tremendous price increases during the last month and the prices seem to be going up daily. Fruits and vegetables are hitting the roof and grocery prices are just as bad.

Things will be getting much worse because our governement doesn't seem to care. George Bush, just this week, said the economy was strong. Where does he live?

I haven't actually witness any dramatic increase in price. I guess I must be lucky.

Yep. And it's only normal. High gas prices mean high prices at every other goods. Nothing we can do about it.
